Day 1: Moshi to Mandara Hut (7 km | 4-5 hours | Montane Forest)
Morning: After breakfast and a briefing from your guide, depart Moshi at 8:00 AM. Enjoy a 45-minute drive to the Marangu Gate, where you'll register at the national park.
Hiking: Begin your trek at 10:30 AM through the lush rainforest, home to colobus monkeys and vibrant birdlife. Expect wet and muddy trails, so keep rain gear, trekking poles, and gaiters handy.
Arrival: Reach Mandara Hut by 2-3 PM. Unpack, relax with tea or coffee, and explore the nearby Maundi Crater for scenic views of Northern Tanzania and Kenya.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut (11 km | 6-8 hours | Heathland)

Lunch Break: Enjoy lunch with breathtaking views of Mawenzi Peak.
Arrival: Reach Horombo Hut by 3 PM, where Kibo’s summit becomes visible. Rest and prepare for the next day. Optionally, spend an extra day here for acclimatization.

Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut (10 km | 6-8 hours | Alpine Desert)

Lunch: Stop at the saddle for lunch while admiring the summit route ahead.
Arrival: Arrive at Kibo Hut to rest and prepare for the summit climb.

Day 4: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Back to Horombo Hut (10-15 hours | Alpine Desert)
Midnight Start: After a light breakfast, begin your summit climb at 1 AM. Trek through steep scree or snow under the light of headlamps.
Summit: Reach Gilman’s Point (5,861 m) at sunrise, with stunning views of the crater and glaciers. Continue for one more hour to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa.
Descent: Return to Kibo Hut for lunch and then trek back to Horombo Hut for dinner and rest.
Tips: Dress warmly for the freezing temperatures and pace yourself—pole pole (slowly, slowly).

Celebration: Return to Moshi for a well-deserved celebration of your incredible achievement.
