Itinerary

Day 1 Airport To Samora River Lodge

You've been dreaming of your Tanzanian safari for so long, and the day has finally arrived! You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and welcomed to Tanzania by a Njere Tours & Safaris staff member. We'll greet you, give you a quick rundown on what happens next and answer your questions. Then, after that, your guide will drive you to the lodge, where you will have the chance to relax and prepare for tomorrow's safari.

Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Samora River Lodge

Day 2 Tarangire National Park

In the morning, you will start your safari with a drive to the Tarangire National Park. The park is roughly the size of Luxemburg and covers an area of about 2,600 sq km. Bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and giant baobab trees make up the landscape of this nature reserve. The park is probably one of the best places in East Africa to see elephants. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you can watch them and absorb the landscape.

Apart from elephants, the park is also home to Maasai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and more than 500 types of birds. After an extensive game drive, you will leave the park and drive to Karatu for an overnight stay.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Accommodation: Farm of Dreams Lodge

Day 3 Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will make your way to Serengeti National Park for a full-day game drive and picnic lunch.

The great migration occurs here when a million wildebeest, each driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfil their instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life. Serengeti has special sights, sounds, and smells of Africa with stunning scenery, ever-changing light, and entertaining wildlife. In this park, the animals don’t walk to any schedule, so we may find lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, antelopes, gazelles, hippos, and many species of birds and reptiles during our game drive. You can spend your day in the Central park area, or your guide will know where to take you according to the season (migration of the animals).

Accommodation: Serengeti Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 4 Serengeti to Ngorongoro

Embark on a thrilling half-day game drive through the iconic Serengeti, where the endless plains come alive with the vibrant wildlife of Africa. Witness the graceful movements of giraffes, the thunderous herds of wildebeest, and perhaps even elusive big cats prowling through the tall grass. As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, bid farewell to the Serengeti's wonders and journey to the Ngorongoro.

Ngorongoro Wild Camp offers a rustic yet comfortable retreat in nature's embrace. Settle into your cozy accommodation, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of the wilderness. Enjoy a hearty meal under the starlit sky, sharing stories of the day's adventures around a crackling campfire.

As night falls, immerse yourself in the peaceful ambiance of Ngorongoro, where the distant calls of nocturnal creatures serenade you to sleep. Dream of tomorrow's exploration as you drift off under the vast African sky, knowing that another day of unforgettable safari experiences awaits.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Wild Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 5 Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast, you will enter the Ngorongoro Crater on a steep and narrow road. The slopes are forested, but the landscape changes to savannah dotted with the occasional acacia tree. The wildlife here is breathtaking, and if you are lucky, you might spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard). The crater is also home to warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and many more. After a morning full of game viewing and a picnic lunch, you will leave the crater in the afternoon and head to Karatu for an overnight stay.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera. It was formed during the massive explosion of a volcano once higher than Kilimanjaro some 2 to 3 million years ago. The crater has a total area of 304 sq km, is 600m deep, and has a diameter of 20km.

Accommodation: Into Wild Africa Tented Camp

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Day 6 Lake Manyara to Airport

Where the plains of northern Tanzania meet the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a wonderful place to spend a safari day. Your highlights might include getting up close and personal with the elephants that made this park famous, lots of baboons, and one of the few lion populations in Africa that spend much of their time in the trees. Between the forests at the foot of the escarpment and the lake that gives the park its name, enjoy rich birdlife and the chance to see predators ambush their prey.

Today marks the end of your safari in Tanzania. We hope you have enjoyed your trip and are already planning your next safari.
